The i5 features a new medium frequency trans-gun capable of delivering over 13,000A withover 1,000 lbs (450dANO) of squeeze pressure.

The i5 is designed to handle all new ultra high strength steels including Boron, etc. The operator can choose between two different modes AUTO and MANUAL for the two sided spot welding. In the AUTO mode the i5 measures the thickness of the metals automatically using the latest optical technology. The i5 then senses the metals to be welded from a pre-delivered current to determine the type of metal. Based on the thickness and resistance feedback information the i5 delivers the correct weld power every time regardless of type of metal or thickness.

The i5 features a 5 gal.(20L) radiator looped cooling system all the way to the weld caps. The weld gun is carefully designed with ease of use in mind. Extremely easy to change welding arms based on the same system of the very popular i4. The most important feature with the spot gun is its double-acting feature. Unlike any other trans-gun on the market the i5 can spread the electrodes wide open with a push of a button never leaving the hands from its positions. That not only saves time but also assures the operator to have to let go of the holding position of its hands to manually have to loosen and move arms manually.

The i5 is driven by the latest in processing technology. The high resolution TOUCH screen display allows for easy navigation and intuitive welder operation. The OEM section of the software features over 3000 OEM repair screens with weld data and repair recommendations from the car manufacturers. Data can be uploaded and downloaded via USB. Single sided welding is available with the easy to attach cable adapter system. All single sided weld modes such as Pro Pull dent pulling, Spot hammer, Bolt and Nut welding, Carbon Shrink, Contact Shrink, Rivet welding Stitch welding and single side welding.

The Single Sided Welding System (186-PS-SS1) offers a quick change between 2-sided and 1-sided welding. It comes with Single-side welding accessories including Washer Welding, Nail Welding, Moulding Clip Rivet Welding, Bolt & Nut Welding, Stitch Welding, Spot Hammer Dent Pulling and more.

The i5 comes pre-programmed with 60 Single-Sided programs.
